I came up with this title for my next blog article months ago and at first, I was going to talk about Christians and health issues, but now I am going to relate it to spiritual health issues. I came across this movie one day on Netflix after my sister told me about this awesome movie. The movie was called “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”. I watched the movie and was awe inspired to do the juicing plan. I have been trying to lose weight for many years, often working hard and after obtaining results (rather it be a lot or a little) I would give up and not stick it out long-term. I tried fat-burning pills as well hoping to lose weight to no avail. I have lived my life mostly like this, living with the mentality of I could “Get Something for Nothing”; always believing that my situation would turn around for my good. Being overweight now and having high blood pressure is a sign that I have dropped the ball and need to work hard to improve my health. I know now that hard work and dedication are blessed things, and improving my health is blessed. I don’t have to wait for someone to lay hands on me, but I can trust in the One who has always kept me my Lord Jesus Christ. Often for the believer we are told to have faith in Christ and believe on Him that he can provide things for us. The scriptures are true when it says “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:12-14)”, but absent of you obeying His commands and being in His will could He do so? I find that we are easy misled or we have false expectations hoping in the God who can provide us with the desires of our hearts and not the desires of His Heart. We have become Fat as believers. We are often looking for the miraculous, while ignoring the greatest miracle of all which is the free Gift of Salvation. It is often puzzling to me that we are led by the temporary things and not the lasting things. We are excited about the way a man preached then we are the content of the message and the correct context of scripture usage. We are led by the spirit of money more than the spirit of Christ. And we are too naive to realize it. The majority of American Christians are Sick and don’t even know it. We are Nearly Dead spiritually and many are wondering but don’t want to admit that they attend a dead church because the True Living Spirit of Our Lord Jesus Christ is MIA.

On CNN, I recently saw an article with a title that read nearly two thirds of Americans will be obese by the year 2030, so if we stay on this course that will be a true statement. And if I stay on the course of my current diet I will be dead sooner than later. The same as the church, 88% of Americans say they are Christians but more and more it seems like the evil one is gaining hold on the church, the authentic Gospel message is decreasing and a new wave of Christian doctrine is exceeding. Not to say that everything is bad, and I do believe that Christ is doing a new thing, at the same time many are using another form of Gospel as a form of motivational speech than life changing, life-saving good news of Jesus Christ. The One who comes to transform your way of life to His; rather than, fitting Him in your life whenever it is convenient for you.

The way the Church is Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead is in its conformity to the world. It’s no longer a call to anguish, but a call to prosperity. It’s no longer the message of unity (the Body of Christ Universal), but the message of separatism which consist of: difference of opinions, Race, denominations, tithing doctrines, mega churches vs. small churches, false leadership and hierarchy, false coverings, no authenticity, and so on and so on (and yes I can go on). It’s the church of entertainment, not the church of sincerity; it’s the church of Thyatira, not the church of Smyrna or Philadelphia (yes there are two churches the Lord does not bring a charge against Rev. 2:8-11), the church of a harlot and not bride of Christ. She always desires more and is never content with just the mere presents of Jehovah. So she is swept away by every convincing doctrine or new move of God. She is always looking for a new word to make feel better, or a new prophesy to make her think she knows the mind of Christ through the thoughts of man.  She perverts the true spirit of Christ for her own gain; However, the bride of Christ is loving and longsuffering (yes, LONGSUFFERING, PATIENT, AND HUMBLE), rests in the arms of the almighty, Loves correction and reproof, is excited about the Truth and the Plan of Christ, Trust in His promises even if it takes generations to come to past, operates in the full manifestation of the Holy Spirit because she seeks Jesus and holds him as the supreme authority, She seeks the gifts of the Holy Spirit to bless the body not for selfish gain Fully Relying of God (F.R.O.G).

So what are you saying than that the whole church is a fraud? No, it’s not but the enemy is deceiving us, He is feeding us cake when we should have vegetables and a balanced diet. He is telling us to be authentically Christian and authentically Hip Hop (worldly), and not Like Christ. We are also led away by or own desires, lust and philosophy. We live in a world where sin is good and no means yes. For the Believer this is no good. We must stand on truth, and seek Him in fasting in prayer and not just in church service. We must die to self. We must be born again. Let me say that again WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN. We must test ourselves to see if we are still in the faith. And we must seek the will of Jehovah in everything. Now we can start working out our Faith and get into that spiritual fitness Christ desires for us. We can reverse the effects of being the harlot and become that bride Christ desires. We can actually be more like Jesus then we could have ever imagined and we can experience His power like never before. Just like in the movie, this guy was like 400 pounds and by juicing and then eating right and working out he lost over 200 pounds and is in the best shape he has ever been in. With Christ, we can be in the best spiritual shape we have ever been in and it always gets better as we go into eternality to be with Him forever and ever.
